Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific

• Arian is responsible for the strategy and day-to-day operations of VanEck's Asian Pacific business.
• Prior to joining VanEck, Arian was a partner at boutique consulting firm Sunstone Partners, specialising in Asset and Wealth Management.
• Previously Arian worked for Perpetual as Senior Portfolio Specialist; Head of Product Development for Protected Investments; and Senior Product Manager for Platforms and Wholesale Funds.
• Arian has also held positions at Credit Suisse and MLC.
• Arian has a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and a Diploma of Financial Services and is currently undertaking an MBA at Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM).

Russel Chesler

Director - Investments

• An actuary with over 25 years experience in financial services, Russel is responsible for managing VanEck's Australian ETFs.
• Prior to joining VanEck, Russel was a partner at boutique consulting firm Sunstone Partners, specialising in Asset and Wealth Management.
• Previously Russel worked for Perpetual Limited as General Manager of Protected Investments and Lending. Russel has also held positions at Grange Securities, Alexander Forbes and Liberty Life.
• Russel has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (United Kingdom).

Timothy Bethe

Head of Operations and Risk, Company Secretary

• Timothy is responsible for product management of VanEck's ETFs and corporate governance.
• Prior to joining VanEck, Timothy worked for Blackrock, where he was responsible for product governance and business management of the iShares ETFs on the ASX. Previously Timothy worked for Bluestone Group and GE Money.
• Timothy has a Master in Applied Finance from the University of Western Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance. Timothy is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Russell Grigg

General Counsel and Head of Compliance - Asia Pacific

• Russell is the General Counsel and Head of Compliance for VanEck in Australia.
• Russell has over 15 years legal and compliance experience in financial services in Australia and England. He has previously consulted to NAB Wealth, MLC and BetaShares and held senior legal positions at Perpetual and Colonial First State Investments.
• Russell commenced his career as a solicitor at GadensRidgeway Lawyers in Brisbane before moving inhouse with West Merchant Bank in its Global Legal & Compliance division in London.
• Russell has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland. He is admitted to practice in Queensland and New South Wales and is a Member of the Law Society of New South Wales.

Michael Brown

Finance Director - Asia Pacific

• Possesses over 30 years' experience in financial services.
• Michael is responsible for corporate finance in VanEck's Australian business and for the operations of the Australian funds. He has more than 30 years' experience in the finance industry. 
• Prior to joining VanEck, Michael was Executive Director at boutique consulting firm, Sunstone Partners specialising in finance and regulatory matters for the Wealth Management Industry.
• Previously Michael was General Manager at Perpetual, Chief Tax Counsel at MLC and Senior Vice President at BT Funds Management.
• Michael has a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Matthew McKinnon

Head of Business Development - Asia Pacific

• Matthew is responsible for intermediary and institutional business development for VanEck in Australia.
• Matthew has over 20 years experience in financial services with his most recent role being General Manager of Distribution for Equities at Perpetual.
• Previously Matthew worked at IOOF, Rothschild, Morgan Stanley International and Merrill Lynch in London.
• Matthew has a Bachelor of Business from Victoria University.

Brad Livingstone-Foggo

Head of Marketing - Asia Pacific

• Brad is responsible for building the VanEck brand in Australia.
• Prior to joining VanEck Brad held Marketing positions at Aberdeen Asset Management and Deutsche Asset Management.
• Brad has also worked at Macquarie Group and BT Funds Management.
• Brad has a Masters of Marketing from the University of New South Wales, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Newcastle. Brad is a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM) and is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute (FAMI).

• Prior to joining VanEck, founder and managing member of LB Trading, LLC, a proprietary ETF trading firm on the American Stock Exchange, and junior general partner and management committee member of Orbit II Partners, L.P., a  proprietary trading firm specializing in equity options, index options and ETF market making.
