Arian Neiron
CEO & Managing Director - Asia Pacific
Arian founded VanEck Australia and leads VanEck's Asia Pacific business. Recognised as a thought leader and with deep experience in asset management across a range of asset classes, his passion lies in designing investment solutions and is a pioneer of smart beta strategies in Australia. Prior to joining VanEck, Arian was a partner at boutique asset management advisory firm Sunstone Partners and was previously at Perpetual Investments, Credit Suisse and MLC. Arian has a B. Commerce from Curtin University and a Diploma of Financial Services.
Russel Chesler
Head of Investments & Capital Markets
An actuary with over 25 years’ experience in financial services, Russel is responsible for managing VanEck's passive solutions. Prior to joining VanEck, Russel was a partner at Sunstone Partners, specialising in Asset and Wealth Management. Russel also worked for Perpetual Limited as General Manager of Protected Investments and Lending, and has held positions at Grange Securities, Alexander Forbes and Liberty Life. Russel has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
Timothy Bethe
Head of Compliance, Risk & Operations
Timothy joined VanEck in July 2012. He oversees product management, compliance, risk and technology services. Prior to joining VanEck, Timothy worked in BlackRock’s iShares division, where he was responsible for governance and business management of the iShares funds on the ASX. Timothy has deep on-exchange regulatory and operational experience. Previously Timothy worked for Bluestone Group and GE Money as team leader of corporate affairs. Timothy has a Master in Applied Finance from the University of Western Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance. He is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.
Michael Brown
Head of Finance, Legal and Regulatory Affairs
Michael heads finance, legal and regulatory affairs for VanEck's Australian and Asia Pacific businesses. Prior to joining VanEck, Michael held senior regulatory roles at Perpetual, MLC and BT as well as being a partner and CFO at boutique asset management advisory firm Sunstone Partners. Michael is well-known in the industry for the role he has played in tax reform going back over three decades.
Brad Livingstone-Foggo
Head of Marketing
Brad is responsible for building the VanEck brand in Australia. With over 20 years experience in asset management with marketing and operations roles at Aberdeen Asset Management, Deutsche Asset Management and Macquarie Group, Brad brings a unique perspective to VanEck. Brad has a Masters of Marketing from the University of New South Wales, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Newcastle.
Vanessa Marks
Head of Communications and Customer Experience
Vanessa leads the Australian business’ communications, media and digital strategies. With a background in experiential marketing, she brings more than a decade of global marketing and communications experience, having worked extensively in the arts and international education sectors. Vanessa has a Master of Marketing from the University of New South Wales and Bachelor of Communications from Western Sydney University.
Jamie Hannah
Deputy Head of Investments & Capital Markets
Jamie provides portfolio management and capital market trading across the full range of VanEck’s passive solutions. Prior to joining VanEck, Jamie worked at Source ETFs in investment management and he held various roles at ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Morgan's and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Jamie has a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Management Accounting) from the University of Newcastle and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Matthew McKinnon
Head of Business Development - Asia
Matthew is responsible for intermediary and institutional business development for VanEck in Australia and Asia-Pacific. Matthew has over 25 years of experience in funds management, investment banking and commodities. Prior to joining VanEck, Matthew was general manager distribution for Perpetual Equities and senior product manager at IOOF and was previously with Rothschild, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch in London. Matthew has a Bachelor of Business from Victoria University.
Nicholas Jackson
Director, Business Development - Asia Pacific
Nick is a Director of business development over 15 years experience working across a diverse range of products including gearing, derivatives, alternative investments and superannuation. Nick is results focused with an ability to tackle complex client requests by developing practical flexible solutions using both passive ETFs. Prior to VanEck Nick has held roles which include working across complex structures in the Australian market as a State Sales Manager, Key Account Manager and Senior Business Development Manager.
John Caulfield
Director, Intermediaries and Institutions
John joined VanEck Australia in 2014 and has over 20 years of experience in the finance sector. He is an ETF expert and is regularly featured on AusBiz and podcasts like Equity Mates. He is responsible for the institutional and intermediary client business in New South Wales, Queensland and New Zealand. John previously worked at FTSE Group (Australia) as the Director of Business Development, and at the London Metal Exchange. John has a Bachelor of Business Science (Hons) in Finance from the University of Cape Town.
Damon Gosen
Director, Business Development
Damon joined VanEck in 2015 and is responsible for business development across the broker and financial planning channels in Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia. With more than 15 years' experience in financial services, Damon has worked in investment roles at AMP Capital and AXA. With deep experience in funds management and portfolio construction, his key focus is on taking quality, low cost investment solutions to investors. Damon has an MBA from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Economics from The University of Queensland.

Jan F. van Eck
Jan joined VanEck in 1991 and its Executive Management Team in 1998. He serves as the President, Chief Executive Officer and an owner of Van Eck Associates Corporation. Furthering VanEck’s mission to anticipate asset classes and trends, Jan has created smart beta, tactical allocation, emerging markets and commodity-related investment strategies. Jan founded VanEck's ETF business in 2006.  Jan holds a JD from Stanford University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Williams College with a major in Economics. He has registrations with the National Futures Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Jan is also a Director of the National Committee on United States-China Relations.

Lee Rappaport
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Rappaport joined VanEck in 2012. He serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Van Eck Associates Corporation and its subsidiaries after previously serving as the Controller. Mr. Rappaport also serves as Van Eck Securities Corporation’s Financial and Operations Principal. Prior to joining VanEck, Mr. Rappaport was a manager at KPMG LLP. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Mr. Rappaport holds a FINRA Series 27 license and received a BS in Accounting from University of Maryland, College Park.
Jonathan Simon
Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Jonathan Serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary for Van Eck Associates Corporation, Van Eck Securities Corporation and Van Eck Absolute Return Advisers Corporation. Prior to joining VanEck, he worked as corporate associate at Sidley Austin LLP, Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP and Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. Jonathan is a member of the New York State Bar. He holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law and earned a BS from Cornell University.
